kitten season right now
kitten season right now
Some cats lose their homes because they are older and require medical care or they are 'no longer any fun'. When you take in a cat, please be responsible for its whole life.
Feral cats need help just as much as the former house cats do. Ferals can be in need of medical care that they will not get unless YOU do something. Spay and Neuter are most important to stop litters and litters of kittens becoming the next feral population.
There is no reason to abandon a cat because you have a dog. Cats and dogs can make the very best of friends.
There is always that SPECIAL cat that comes into your life - is there for a time - then is gone. BUT, they are never gone forever.
Many times people walk by an animal in crisis. Please do not be one of those people....DO SOMETHING!!! Call local shelters/rescues for help. Call local Animal Control, check with vets offices, put an ad on social media - make calls until you find someone who will help. Remember, that animal has no power to change its situation in life....YOU DO.
Where there is 1 cat, there should be 2 (or more)
Empty buckets can also serve as feeding stations.
Giving just 1 cat a home will change that cats' live forever. We can't change the world, but we can change the world for that lost cat.
Remember, there a lot of helpless, homeless cats that need you RIGHT NOW. Contact your local rescue if you could foster a pregnant stray and give her and her kittens a safe place until good homes can be found for all of them.
Many times a Momcat will be found with a kitten or two. Please do not separate them. If you cannot take them, please find a shelter/rescue who will.
Sometimes we forget that animals have thoughts and feelings just as we do. It is important not to lose sight of that!
